Abstract:

The Ruoqiang water system refers to the river system composed of Milan River, Tashisayi River, Ruoqiang River, Washixia River, Hongliugou River and their tributaries, which maintains the existence of Ruoqiang Oasis. The main stream lengths of the Milan River, Tashisayi River, Ruoqiang River, Washixia River, Hongliugou River are 216.82 km, 190.22 km, 166.82 km, 159.95 km and 108.87 km separately (Lambert projection). The mountainous part of the Ruoqiang Rivers’ Basin is the catchment area of the Ruoqiang Rivers and their upstream tributaries. The geo-location of the mountainous part of Ruoqiang Rivers’ Basin is between 37°47'27" N and 39°13'27" N, 86°47'04" E and 90°34'39" E. The area of this basin is 19382.27 km² (Albers projection) and its perimeter is 1149.58 km (Lambert projection). The regional elevation is all above 1000 m, and the region is classified as 11 classes. The regional elevation below 1500 m is one class, while the area above 1500 m is classified at 500 m intervals. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images, ASTER GDEM 30 m and in situ data. The dataset is consisted of: (1) Ruoqiang water system; (2) boundary data of the mountainous part of the Ruoqiang Rivers’ Basin; (3) elevation classification data of the Basin. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .tif data formats, and consists of 33 data files with data size of 23.1 MB (compressed to 3 files with 15.7 MB).
