Abstract:

Eleven key metropolitan areas from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Chengdu-Chongqing, and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River were taken as the research area. Based on the China input-output table in 2017, authors analyzed core industrial chain of China and constructed the industrial chain spatial network. Social network analysis methods were used to reveal the current characteristics of the industrial divisions and functional synergy in Chinese metropolitan areas, and the industrial divisions and functional synergy dataset of Chinese metropolitan areas (2017) was produced. The dataset includes: (1) the output value and proportion of Chinese industrial sectors; (2) the direct consumption coefficient of the core industrial sectors; (3) the influence coefficients of various industrial sectors in Chinese core industrial chains; (4) the output value and proportion of the core industrial chains in major metropolitan areas; (5) the flow, direction and proportion of the industrial chains spatial network in major metropolitan areas; (6) the structural characteristic data of the industrial chains spatial network in major metropolitan areas; (7) the flow matrix data of the industrial chains spatial network of metropolitan areas with single-center dispersion structure, peripheral expansion structure, core-peripheral structure, and multi-center network structure. The dataset is archived in .xlsx format, and consists of one data file with data size of 159 KB. The research findings based on the dataset will be published at Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 79, 2024.
