Abstract:

The spatial distribution of urban residents may differ significantly over time. Based on the mobile phone user profile data and geographic location information, the authors extracted the spatial distribution data of urban residents in Nanjing inner-city during daytime activities (working hours) and nighttime residences (sleeping hours). The community was taken as a spatial unit, the natural breakpoint method and the same grading standard for day and night were used to classify each indicator variable into seven grades: highest, high, medium-high, medium, medium-low, low, and lowest, and ultimately obtain the geographic information dataset of mobile phone user portrait in inner-city of Nanjing (2020). The dataset includes: (1) boundary of study area; (2) mobile phone user portrait data in 125 communities with eighteen typical dimensions. The dataset is archived in .shp, .tif, and .txt data formats, and consists of 311 data files with data size of 1.32 MB (Compressed into one file with 481 KB). The analysis article based on the dataset has been published at Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 79, No. 2, 2024.
