Abstract:

The spatial distribution dataset of provincial intangible cultural heritage projects and inheritors in China was developed based on the list of provincial intangible cultural heritage (ICH) representative projects and inheritors announced by the cultural and tourism departments of each provincial administrative region from 2005 to 2024 (The data is unavailable in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), and the municipal administrative region where the application area or the application unit is located. The dataset includes: (1) 20924 provincial ICH representative projects and their spatial distribution. The attributes data are project category, project name, publication time, batch, provincial administrative region, and municipal administrative region, etc.; (2) 22361 provincial ICH inheritors and their spatial distribution. The attributes data include project category, project name, inheritor name, publication time, batch, provincial administrative region, and municipal administrative region, etc.; (3) number of representative projects and inheritors in each province; (4) number of representative projects and inheritors in each municipal administrative region. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xls data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 504 MB (Compressed into one file with 10.3 MB).
