Abstract:
Tibetan ecosystem carbon storage simulation and analysis dataset from 2001 to 2010 was developed based on the following procedure: (1) with the land cover data from MODIS MCD12Q1 in the three periods of 2001, 2005 and 2010, to obtain the spatial distribution of 16 types of land cover in the study area; (2) Using MODND1M monthly NDVI data from June to October, calculate the 16 types of land cover an average of NDVI data, the year 2000, 2005 and 2010; (3) with the biomass density from the Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC), the soil organic carbon density from the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the models of 2001 NDVI and biomass density, NDVI and soil carbon density was established in 16 types of land cover. With quadrats data such as aboveground biomass and soil organic carbon collected through field survey and analyzed in-lab subsequently, the output of the model was calibrated; (4) Then, the biomass and soil organic carbon data from 2005 and 2010 were modeled based on the inversion of the models; (5) The biomass was converted into aboveground biomass and underground biomass based on the root to shoot ratio. Then, the land cover and carbon density parameters were input into InVEST to determine the carbon accumulation in 2005 and 2010 in the Loess Plateau. Because the humus carbon library is small and relatively stable, the humus carbon density data in this paper represented the data collected in 2000; (6) to assume that carbon density and land use invariant respectively, then carbon accumulation change in Tibet area from 2001 to 2010. The dataset is consisted of: (1) Carbon storages data of Tibet in 2001, 2005 and 2010 (t C/cell); (2) Carbon sequestrations data from 2001 to 2010 due to changes in carbon density; (3) Carbon sequestrations data from 2001 to 2010 due to land use change. There are five data files in .tif format, the data size is 27.2 MB, they are compressed in one data file with 11.8 MB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at the Journal of Natural Resource at No.5, Vol.32, 2016.
