Abstract:

Based on satellite gravimetric data from Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE), Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) land surface models, precipitation data from China Meteorological Data Service Center (CMDC), groundwater level from China Institute of Geological Environment Monitoring (CIGEM) and Hydrological Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (HBIM), the dataset of groundwater storage derived from GRACE and in situ measurements in the West Liaohe River Basin, China was developed. The dataset contains: (1) Terrestrial Water Storage Anomalies (TWSA) derived from GRACE during 2002-2017; (2) Soil moisture storage anomalies (SMSA) plus snow water equivalent storage anomalies (SWESA) time series from GLDAS four land surface models during 2002-2016; (3) Time series of Ground Water Storage Anomalies (GWSA) from in situ well measurements and from GRACE during 2005-2015, with seasonal cycles removed; (4) Annual mean groundwater levels in the West Liaohe River Basin during 1980-2015; (5) Time series of reconstructed Terrestrial Water Storage Anomalies (TWSA) during 1980-2013; (6) Annual Groundwater flux (GWF) and regression-modeled GWF from 1981 to 2015 and Groundwater Storage Anomalies(GWSA) and reconstructed GWSA from 1980 to 2015 in the West Liaohe River Basin. The dataset was archived in .xlsx format with data size of 64.2 KB in one file. The temporal resolution of TWSA, SMSA SWESA, GWSA and reconstructed TWSA is in monthly based, while mean groundwater level, GWF and modeled GWSA is in annual. The analysis paper of this dataset was published in Remote Sensing, Vol. 10, No. 4, 2018.
