Abstract：

Xinglong Reservoir is one of the winter fish-catching places in Panshi, Jilin Province of China. It is located on the western slope of Changbai Mountain and adjacent to the Huifa River, a tributary of the Songhua River. It is administrated by Xinglong Village, Niuxin Town, Panshi City, Jilin Province. It lies between 42°54′22″N and 42°54′51″N, 126°9′11″E and 126°9′49″E. In the summer of 2020, the area of the reservoir is 467,026 m² and its perimeter is 3943 m. The reservoir is classified to be small 1. The main water is from atmospheric precipitation, seasonal snow melt water and the Huifa River. The annual precipitation in the region is about 676 mm, and the annual average temperature is 5.3 ℃. The lowest temperature appears in January, with an average of -18.4 ℃. The dam of the reservoir was built in 1980, with a storage capacity of 2.9x10⁶ m³. The average water depth in the dam is 1.8 m, and the maximum depth is 5.2 m. The bottom of the reservoir is silt with a thickness of 60 cm. The main function of the reservoir is to irrigate and nourish the downstream rice fields, and the second is to breed the fish. The main fish species in the reservoir are Aristichthys nobilis, Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Cyprinus carpio, and Ctenopharyngodon idellus. The benthic organisms are mainly mussels and snails. The water quality in the reservoir is better than the Water quality standard for fisheries (GB11607-89), according to the testing data in 2021. The content of arsenic is 0.0003%, cadmium is 0.001%, chromium is 0.004%, copper is 0.001%, nickel is 0.05%, lead is 0.01%, zinc is 0.01%, mercury is 0.00004%, and the pH value is 7.4. The suitable period for Winter Fish-catching is from November 15th to January 15th. The dataset is developed based on Google Earth image. It is archived in .shp, .kmz, and .jpg data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 634 KB (compressed into two files with 8.97 KB).
