Abstract：

The impact dataset of China Railway Express opening on the export trade along the route in China (2004-2019) was developed using text analysis and the spherical shortest distance based on statistical yearbooks from 31 provinces, the "China Urban Statistical Yearbook", the Wind Database, the China Economic and Financial Research Database, the Economic Prediction System global statistical data analysis platform, the "China Europe Railway Construction and Development Plan (2016-2020)", the Xinhua Silk Road Network, local railway bureaus, and local official media. The dataset includes: (1) opening time of the China Railway Express; (2) export volume data and control variable data of prefecture level cities; (3) geographical distance between local cities and major export markets; (4) parallel trend test data; (5) hub node cities of the China Railway Express; (6) different geographical location channels of the China Railway Express; (7) the number of China Railway Express passing through overseas countries; (8) the average distance between overseas countries and destination countries on the China Railway Express route; (9) the logistics transportation capacity of the destination countries of the China Railway Express; (10) marketization index and transportation time and cost savings of China Railway Express data of prefecture level cities; (11) the opening time of the China Railway Express is delayed by one phase. This dataset is archived in .xlsx format, and consists of one data file with data size of 833 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol.78, No.6, 2023.
