The authors collected 7 different provenances of Caryopteris mongholica branches and tranplanted them in the same environment, these sampling locations are Abaga Banner, Alxa Left Banner, Dong Ujimqin banner, Mengxi, Liangcheng in the Inner Mongolia, Shenmu in Shaanxi, Kangbao in Hebei. The dataset includes: (1) geo-location of the samples; (2) figures of leaf cross sections; (3) data of analysis on leaf across section and factors, they are: ①summary of general linear models for the effect of climate variations in different provenances (MAP, MAT, PE, Alt, Site) on individual leaf anatomical characters of Caryopteris mongholica; ②correlation analyses of Caryopteris mongholica leaf anatomical characters; ③leaf anatomical indices of Caryopteris mongholica and basic conditions of provenances. The dataset was archived in .shp, .kmz, .xls, .jpg and .doc data format, and consists of 14 data files with data size of 5.84 MB (compressed to one single file with 5.75 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology, Vol. 44, No. 3, 2020.
