Abstract:

A total of 264 cores from 142 trees of Sabina przewalskii were collected from the mountains in Wenquan Town, Xinghai County, Qinghai Province of China. According to the statistics of cross-dating, the average correlation coefficient is 0.739, the average sensitivity is 0.454, and the percentage of missing rings is 1.392%. The reliable chronology begins from 834 with 16 cores from 7 trees. The annual precipitation (from previous July to June) of Xinghai is reconstructed by the results of the growth-climate response analysis. The calibration period is 1961-2019. The form of the calibration equation is the common logarithms, and the variance explained is 46.0%. The split-calibration statistics from 1961 to 1988 and 1989 to 2019 show that all reduction of error (RE) and coefficient of efficiency (CE) are greater than 0, and both sign tests are significant at the 99% confidence interval, which indicates that the calibration equation is stable and has prediction ability. The annual precipitation of Xinghai from 834 to 2021 was reconstructed based on the standard tree-ring width chronology. The dataset includes: (1) geo-location of sampling point; (2) reconstruction data of annual precipitation from 834 to 2021 and fast Fourier transform data of 31 years. The dataset is archived in .xls and .shp data formats, and consists of 8 data files with data size of 117 KB (Compressed into one file with 32.3 KB).
