Abstract：
Cheerchen River system consists of the main stream of the Cheerchen River and its upstream tributaries, Ulukesu River, Uluge River, Aksu River, etc. The length of the main stream of the Cheerchen River is 760.48 km. The geo-location of the mountainous part of the Cheerchen River Catchment is between 36°09′16″N and 38°20′37″N, 85°32′25″E and 88°11′47″E. Its area is 33,001.02 km² (Albers projection) and its perimeter is 1,182.43 km (Lambert projection). About 99.95% of the catchment area is in Bayangol Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (95.99% in Qiemo, 3.96% in Ruoqiang), and 0.05% of the area is in Shuanghu County, Naqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. The elevation classification dataset of the mountainous Cheerchen River Catchment was classified into 12 types. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images, ASTER GDEM 30 m and in situ data. The dataset is consisted of: (1) Cheerchen River system; (2) boundary data of the mountainous Cheerchen River Catchment; (3) elevation classification data of the catchment. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 31 data files with data size of 8.14 MB (compressed to 3 files with 5.52 MB).
