Abstract:

Iceberg calving is a major way for the Antarctic mass loss, it has been also regarded as a crucial variable in precisely evaluating the mass balance of ice shelves. The multi-source remote sensing data at the beginning of each month from August 2010 to August 2019 were used at this study, the monthly calving events that occurred between August 2010 and August 2019,l 109 months in total, through vector segmentation, and calculated their area, thickness, mass, and calving period throughspatial computing to obtain the monthly iceberg calving dataset of the Antarctic ice shelves (2010-2019). The dataset was composed of monthly data and a polar night data, which includes the distribution of monthly calving events, along with the calving year, calving month, length, area, thickness, mass, calving period, and calving types. This dataset is archived in .shp format and consists of 104 data files, with a data size of 4.31 MB (compresses to one file, 1.59 MB).Browse
