Abstract:

Arctic sea ice is an important component of the earth system. Changes in Arctic sea ice are critical to the climate of polar region and, by extension, mid-latitudes. Based on the characteristics of high albedo of Arctic sea ice, the authors constructed a statistical model of sea ice albedo-atmospheric circulation to obtain a reconstructed dataset of Arctic summer sea ice area (850-2005). The dataset includes: (1) annual summer sea ice area in the Arctic during 850-2005; (2) validation data, including observed and reconstructed sea ice albedo data for 1982-2005; observed and reconstructed sea ice albedo spatial distribution data for 2005; observed and reconstructed sea ice area data for 1982-2005; and reconstructed sea ice spatial distribution data for 1259 and 2003. The dataset is archived in .xlsx, .txt and .nc data formats, and consists of 8 data files with data size of 1.01 MB (Compressed to one single file with 684 KB).Browse
