Abstract:
Numerical simulation data of EGS development by multi-parallel fracture model at Desert Peak, Nevada, USA was developed using a multi-parallel fracture model (MPFM) with surrounding rock environment. The basic heat transfer unit was used for the simulating alculations. By analyzing the influence of the HTU thickness, fracture width, fluid flow and other factors on the heat extraction process, it could provide reference for the development and design of desert peak reservoir and the formulation of injection-production strategy. The result indicates that it is feasible to extract geothermal energy at Desert peak field with this model. The system with a circulation fluid flow of 100 kg/s, thickness of heat transfer unit (HTU) of 40 m, has an outlet temperature of 210℃, electric power of 7.6 MW in the first 20 years. After fifty-year extraction, the outlet temperature is modeled to decreases only by 6.2%.The dataset is consisted of: (1) simulation data of outlet temperature and electric power during 50 years heat extraction; (2) simulation data of fracture fluid outlet temperature with heat extraction when the fracture width is 4, 6, 10 and 20 cm; (3) simulation data of fracture fluid outlet temperature with heat extraction when the fluid flow is 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg/s; (4) the temperature evolution of the rock HTU during heat extraction process in 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years; (5) rock temperature distribution in the rock HTU with different thickness of 20, 40, 100 and 200 m after 20 years heat extraction. This data set is archived in .xls, .cas and.dat data format with data size of 566 MB in 21 data files (Compressed to one single file with data size of 26.9 MB). The analysis paper related to this dataset was published at the journal of Progress in Geophysics (in Chinese), Vol. 32, No. 2, 2017.
