Spatial Distribution Dataset of 357 Items of Provincial Toponym Cultural Heritages in Jiangsu Province

Abstract：
Based on two batches of provincial-level toponym cultural heritage lists published by the Department of Civil Affairs of Jiangsu Province in 2022 and 2023, a mapping relationship between ancient and modern place names was established by referencing the "Dictionary of Ancient and Modern Chinese Place Names". The spatial location information of each toponym cultural heritage was obtained from the National Database for Geographical Names of China, and a spatial distribution dataset of Jiangsu provincial-level toponym cultural heritage was developed. The dataset includes information on the name, batch, heritage type, current toponym, and administrative division of 357 toponym cultural heritages. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xls formats, and consists of 9 data files with data size of 1.66 MB (Compressed to one file with 72 KB).
