In Situ and Simulating Dataset of Sudden Warming Events in the Nocturnal Atmospheric Boundary Layer of Western Loess Plateau

Abstract:
In situ and simulating dataset of sudden warming events in the nocturnal atmospheric boundary layer of western Loess Plateau has been developed based on the observation from the Semi-Arid Climate and Environment Observatory of Lanzhou University (SACOL) (35°57'N,104°08'E,1965.8m) from 24 June 2007 (start at 0:00am) to 25 June 2007 (close at 23:30pm) and simulating by the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF3.5.1). The in situ observation data is consisted of Seven domains, including temperature (at 1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 12m, 16m, 32m), relative humidity (at 1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 12m, 16m, 32m), wind speed (at 1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 12m, 16m, 32m), wind direction at 8m, atmosphere pressure near the surface, radiation(Downward shortwave radiation, upward shortwave radiation at the surface, downward longwave radiation, upward longwave radiation at the surface, net radiation) and eddy flux (latent heat flux, sensible heat flux, momentum flux, friction wind speed). The WRF simulating data is consisted of domains, such as temperature, wind, radiation flux, moisture, etc. The samples are 325 X 345 grid in 3 km resolution and 36 vertical layers extending from the surface to 100 hPa. The dataset is archived in .xlsx and .nc data formats with the data size of 14.7GB. The analysis of the dataset was published at the Journal of Meteorological Research, No. 5, Vol.29, 2015.
