Abstract:

Based on data from NOAA ENOW (Economics: National Ocean Watch), China Marine Statistics Yearbook (2006-2013), World Economic Statistics Yearbook (2006-2013), China Ship Yearbook, and China Port Yearbook, etc., the authors compared the value added of marine economy and marine industrial structure in China's coastal provinces (with a lack of data of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and all coastal areas of the United States. Then the dataset of comparison of marine economy and marine industrial structure between China and USA (2005-2012) was developed. The dataset includes: (1) yearly evolution of the marine industrial structure in China and USA from 2005 to 2012; (2) yearly difference of marine economic value added in China and USA from 2005 to 2012. The dataset is archived in .xlsx data format with data size of 13.2 KB. The analysis paper based on this dataset was published in the journal of Scientia Geographica Sinica, Vol.36, No.11, 2016.
