Abstract:
The Habomai islands are a group of islets located from 43°21′38″N to 43°39′5″N and from 145°51′27″E to 146°26′25″E, in the southernmost of Kuril Islands. It is consisted of Suisho island, Yuri island, Shibotsu island, Akiyuri island, Taraku island, Kaigara island, Odoke island, Moe Moshiri island, Harukari Moshiri island, Kaiba island, Kabuto island, Kabu island and Kanakuso island. In which the biggest one is the Shibotsu island, its area is 58.01 km2. The total area of the Habomai islands is 93.24 km2, and the coastline is 164.69 km. The Habomai islands are dispute islands between Russia and Japan, although it is controlled by Russia since 1945. The dataset is developed based on the google earth images and references maps, it is archived in .kmz .shp formats with the data size of 403KB.
