Abstract:
The asynchronous migration of residents' employment and residence is the direct cause of the employment and residence balance in suburban new cities. Based on the information of individual employment and residence migration, we calculated the number of synchronous and asynchronous migration of Wuhan urban development area in a cluster style, it means one big city plus six sub-urban satellite cities ("1+6" for short) during 2017-2019, as well as the corresponding migration index and balance impact index to obtain the synchronous and asynchronous population migration in the "1+6" clusters of Wuhan, China (2017-2019). The dataset includes: (1) the boundary of Wuhan cluster "1+6"; (2) the number of residential and employed population and the number of same-asynchronous zones of each cluster in Wuhan in 2017 and 2019 based on Unicom's cell phone signaling data; (3) statistics on the number of people moving in and out of the same and different clusters in Wuhan; (4) the distribution of residential and employed population moving in and out of the clusters in Wuhan. The dataset is archived in .shp, .tif and .xlsx formats, and consists of 58 data files with data size of 6.17 MB (Compressed into one file with 416 KB). The research paper based on the dataset has been published in Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 78, No. 12, 2023.
