Abstract:
Jiren Co is located in Yajiang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Provinces, China. In May 2014, a 38 cm long sedimentary column was collected by Hon-Kajak gravity sampler at the depth of 28 m in the center of Jiren Co. Then the sediments were sampled at 0.5 cm intervals. In the laboratory, 210Pb and 137Cs dating of sediments were taken and the contents of diatoms, cladocera, major elements and trace elements in the sediments were analyzed to develop the dataset of paleoecological change of cladoceran and response to climatic environmental change from an alpine lake - Jiren Co, Sichuan, China. The result shows that over the past 150 years, climate warming and atmospheric deposition have affected the physical processes on the water temperature rise and prolonged ice-free period, nutrition processes on nitrogen and phosphorus increased, acid-base equilibrium processes on the increased alkaline. It changed the growing season and promoted the growth of algae, and finally affected on the assemblage and production of cladoceran. The dataset include, 1) Geo-location of the sediment core; 2) Abundance of cladocera, total Littoral, total Planktonic and sedimentary flux of Cladocera from the sediment core in Jiren Co; 3) Abundance of major diatom taxa, diatom flux, and geochemical data from the sediment core in Jiren Co; 4) Major Elements and Trace Elements from the sediment core in Jiren Co; 5) Annual average temperature in Litang County from 1952 to 2007. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .xlsx data format, consisted of 8 files with data size of 69.5 KB (Compressed to two data files with data size of 66.1 KB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published on the Journal of Lake Sciences, Vol. 29, No. 3, 2017.
