Abstract:

the COVID-19 Three Years Impact Dataset on China's Household Consumption during 2020-2022 was developed based on the statistical data of national residents' per capita consumption expenditure of National Bureau of Statistics of China, and the epidemic database of Our World in Data website and other relevant statistical data. Eight types of background trend line equations of per capita consumption were simulated and established. Quadratic-match-sum method was used to conduct a high-frequency conversion referring to the classified statistical standard of residential consumption expenditure of National Bureau of Statistics. The 16 categories of unit commodity retail values above quota were classified into 8 categories. The dataset includes the following data: (1) daily data of newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China from January 2020 to September 2022; (2) six types of per capita consumption anomalies from January 2020 to September 2022; (3) eight types of consumption baseline and estimated consumption loss data from 2020 to 2021; (4) comparison of consumption structure in the three years before and after the epidemic; (5) changes of household consumption structure during the epidemic impact period and the flat period from 2020 to 2022; (6) the impact and category differences of six epidemic waves on eight categories of residents' consumption. The dataset is archived in .xlsx format, and consists of one data file with data size of 40.2 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol.78, No.4, 2023.
