Abstract:
Green tide accumulations and even causing disasters have occurred frequently in Qingdao in recent years. During outbreak of Enteromorpha prolifera, the ecological environment and landscapes of coastal tourism in Qingdao were seriously violated, and to extent, the coastal tourism activities were affected. The environmental value loss of coastal tourism in Qingdao was quantitatively assessed under the influence of E. prolifera by adopting the contingent valuation method (CVM) and investigating tourist willingness to pay (WTP) for the treatment of E. prolifera. The investigation lists were consisted of social and economic characteristics of tourists (sex, age, tourist' origins, educational level, job, monthly income, tourists’ satisfaction with Qingdao coastal tourism landscape, the number of tourists visiting Qingdao bathing beach during the past year, the main purpose of tourists visiting Qingdao bathing beach), tourists' perception of Enteromorpha prolifera (tourists' understanding of Enteromorpha prolifera, the influence on coastal tourism of tourists during Enteromorpha prolifera outbreaks, the influence on coastal entertainment activities during Enteromorpha prolifera outbreaks, the influence on maritime tourism activities during Enteromorpha prolifera outbreaks, tourists' cognition of the responsible for the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera), tourists' willingness to pay to participate in the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera and WTP distribution (WTP for tourists to participate in the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera disasters, WTP values for tourists to participate in the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera disasters, the reasons why tourists will participate in the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera, the reasons why tourists refuse to participate in the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera). 527 cases were investigated from June to July in 2017. The dataset includes: (1) Social and economic characteristics of tourists; (2) Tourists' perception of Enteromorpha prolifera; (3) Tourists' willingness to pay to participate in the treatment of Enteromorpha prolifera and WTP distribution; (4) Calculation of tourists' WTP value per capita; (5) Evaluating the environmental value loss of coastal tourism under the influence of Enteromorpha prolifera disasters; (6) Photos in the field survey. The dataset is archived in .xlsx, .jpg data formats in 9 data files with the data size of 9.39 MB(1 compressed data file with the data size of 9.30 MB)The analysis paper based on this dataset was published at Resources Science, Vol.40, No.2, 2018.
