Abstract:
Quantifying the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and trends of Vegetation Cover (VC) have great significance for the protection and improvement of ecosystem quality in plateau valley areas. Xi Ning Region is located in Qinghai Province of China. The Vegetation Cover Change Dataset in Xi Ning Region (2000-2015) was developed based on the EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) from Landsat TM/OLI images on the Google Earth Engine platform, the Vegetation Cover (VC) was calculated by pixel dichotomy method from 2000 to 2015, and was divided into four cover classes. The spatial and temporal trends of VC were obtained using the Pixel by pixel regression algorithm. This dataset includes: (1) boundary data of the study area; (2) Landsat-EVI data (annual maximum) for each year from 2000-2015; (3) vegetation cover for each year from 2000-2015; (4) vegetation cover classification data and their transfer matrix data for 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015 (5) trend of vegetation cover change from 2000 to 2015; (6) confidence interval table for calculating vegetation cover by EVI. The spatial resolution of the data is 30 m. The dataset is archived in .tif, .xlsx and .shpdata formats and consists of data 127 data files with data size of 3.24 GB (compressed to 8 files with 2.18 GB). The analysis paper related to this dataset has been published in the Acta Ecologica Sinica, Vol. 40, No. 17, 2020.
