Abstract:

Based on the simulated data of five global climate models, including GFDL-ESM2M, HadGEM2-ES, IPSL-CM5A-LR, MIROC-ESM-CHEM and NorESM1-M, obtained from ISI-MIP, population exposure to drought in the reference period (1986-2005) and 1.5 ℃ global warming scenario (RCP2.6, 2020-2039) were quantified. Then contribution of different factors for population exposure change and cumulative probability of changes in population exposure were analyzed. The dataset includes: (1) population exposure to drought in the reference period (1986-2005), including exposure to mild drought, moderate drought, extreme drought and the total drought; (2) population exposure to drought in 1.5℃ warming scenario, including exposure to mild drought, moderate drought, extreme drought and the total drought; (3) contribution of population exposure change to drought under the 1.5℃ global warming scenario; (4) cumulative probability of population exposure change to drought under the 1.5℃ global warming scenario. The dataset is archived in .xlsx and .tif format, consisting of 33 data files with data size of 1.71 MB (Compressed into one single file with 1.21 MB). The analysis paper based on this dataset was published at Earth System Dynamics, No. 9, 2018.
