Abstract:
Elevation classification dataset of Aksu River Basin was developed based on the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer Global Digital Elevation Model version 3 in 30 m resolution (ASTER GDEM V3) data. The elevation was divided into 14 groups. Among them, the region below 1000 m was classified into one type; the regions above 1000 m were divided into 13 types for every 500 m. Then the area of each type was calculated. The results show that the region with an altitude of 1000-4000 m accounts for 84.77% of the basin area. The dataset is archived in .tif data format, and consists of 7 data files with data size of 1.18 GB (compressed to one single data file with 3.06 MB).
