Abstract:
In May 2023, the authors conducted a field research on Pingtan Village in Tongdao Dong Autonomous County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province of China, and collected 77 traditional village landscape photos in 6 categories for studying the analysis and restoration path of pattern language in traditional Dong villages in western Hunan Province of China. The dataset includes: (1) the geolocation of Pingtan Village and the photos; (2) landscape photos, including 1 photo on village pattern, 49 photos on village nodes, 18 photos on landscape genes, 3 photos on elemental optimization, 3 photos on order optimization, and 3 photos on structural optimization; (3) the result data. The dataset is archived in .shp, .jpg and .doc formats, and consists of 155 data files with data size of 243 MB (Compressed into 1 file with 206 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset will be published at the Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 80, 2025.
