Abstract:
Komandor Islands locates 165°45′10.5″E-168°6′9.34″E and 54°29′44.74″N-55°22′14.25″N. The Komandor Islands is the westernmost extension of the Aleutian Islands. The Komandor Islands is a group of Russian Bering Sea islands located 175 km east of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East. The islands consist of Bering Island, Medny Island, and some smaller ones (islets and rocks) among which the largest island is Kamen Toporkov. The area and coastline of the Bering Island, Medny Island are 1187.4km2, 224.84km2, and 310.84km, 197.79km. The area and coastline of Kamen Toporkov are 0.19km2 and 1.74km. The total land area of the Komandor Islands is 1412.78km2 and the total coastline is 527.09km. The dataset was developed based on integration among the Google Earth images and related maps and records. The dataset is archived in the .shp and .kmz formats with the compressed data size of 2.34MB.
