Abstract:
Evaluation dataset of the geoeconomic relationships among China, USA and Japan was developed based on the concept and measurement of geoeconomic cooperative intensity inspired by the Coulomb force model of physics. The input data includes the foreign trade data of China, the USA and Japan from the international business development trade statistics of 2007-2016, the time cost data of goods transportation from each port of ocean transportation route, and the oil consumption and import and export data from BP Statistical Review of World Energy in June 2017. The dataset includes: (1) Geoeconomic cooperative intensity among China, USA and Japan and crude oil price during 2007-2016. (2) Geoeconomic cooperative intensity between China and Japan by commodity, 2007-2016. (3) Geoeconomic cooperative intensity between China and the USA by commodity during 2007-2016. (4) geoeconomic cooperative intensity by commodity 2007-2016 between the USA and Japan. (5) net oil import value of world countries(regions) in 2016. 6) oil import and export and geoeconomic cooperative intensity between China, USA and Japan and major oil exporters, 2016. The data result shows that the geoeconomic relationship as a whole is more competitive than cooperative among China, USA and Japan, while almost all the separate results are negative among the three nations. And Japan is more competitive with the other two nations than the competition between China and USA. The dataset is archived in one Excel file (.xlsx) with data size of 27.7 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 74, No. 2, 2019.
