Abstract:
Pentland Skerries, the islands of Scotland, is located 4.5km to the Orkney Islands in the southeast and 7.5km to the mainland of Scotland in the northeast. Its geolocation is between 2°56′5″W-2°53′17″W,58°40′22″N-58°41′30″N. The Pentland Skerries consist of 8 islands, isles and skerries in total (the smallest one is 135m²). The major islands include Muckle Skerry, Louther Skerry, Clettack Skerry and Little Skerry. The total area of the Pentland Skerries is 0.55km², the coastline of the Skerries is 7.78km long. The biggest island of the Pentland Skerries is the Muckle Skerry with the area of 0.50km², its coastline is 5.03km long. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data format, consist of 14 data files with data size of 104 KB (Compressed to two files with data size of 47.3 KB).
