Abstract:
Victoria Island is located within the Arctic Circle in North America. It is Canada's second-largest island, and belongs to the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. It is separated from the mainland on the south by Dolphin and Union Strait, Coronation Gulf, Dease Strait, and Queen Maud Gulf. The Victoria Island belongs to Northwest Territories and Nunavut of Canada. The geolocation of the Victoria Island is between 68°27'40"N and 73°22'40"N, 100°50'46"W and 119°7'25"W.It is about 632 km from west to east, 550 km from south to north. The area of the Victoria Island is 220,659.87 km² under the Albers projection, and the coastline is 8,288.51 km under the Lambert projection. There are three airports, Cambridge Bay Airport (YCB), Holman Airport (YHI), and Lady Franklin Point Airport(YUJ) in the Victoria Island. The dataset was developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset Based on Google Earth Images (2015), and maps and references related to Canada. The dataset is consisted of 25 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 15.8 MB (Compressed to 10.9 MB in three files).
