Abstract：
The Upper Reaches of Min River basin refers to the catchment areas of Min River that above the Dujiangyan Fish-mouth and its tributaries (Zagunao River, Heishui River, etc.). Located in the transition zone from Qinghai Tibet Plateau to Sichuan Basin, the Upper Reaches of Min River basin is one of the unique ecological and geographical regions and also a diversified area of Han, Tibetan, Qiang, Hui and other nationalities in the mountainous region of Southwest China. It covers the whole areas of Li County and Heishui County and the areas of Dujiangyan City, Wenchuan County, Mao County and Songpan County partly in Sichuan Province. The geo-location of the basin is 102°35′20″E in the west, 103°56′57″E in the east, and 30°45′31″N in the south, 33°9′21″N in the north. The total area of the basin is 22,935.98 km2，the boundary of the basin is 946.39 km long. The boundary data of the Upper Reaches of Min River basin was developed based on the ASTER-DEM with the statistic models and validated by the Google Earth images. The data is archived in both .kmz and .shp formats with the compressed data size of 4.27MB.
