Abstract:
Bering Island is the largest island in the Komandor Islands, and located in the most western of Aleutian Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The Bering Island is 180.40 km separated from Kamchatka Peninsula in the west, and 50.36 km separated from Mednyy Island in the east. The geo-location of the Bering Island is between 54°40'42"N and 55°21'54"N, 165°45'12"E and 166°40'43"E. It belongs to the Kamchatskaya Oblast, Russia. The total area of Bering Island is1174.71 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 320.71 km based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with maps of Russia. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 15 data files with data size of 1.13 MB (compressed to two data files with 451 KB).
