Abstract:
Qinling-Huaihe region is an important division between sub-tropic and temperate zones in China. Based on the daily precipitation observation data from 135 meteorological stations from 1960 to 2013 in the Qingling-Huaihe region, part of the National Meteorological Observation Network of China, as well as analyzing the spatiotemporal variation of extreme precipitation using the methods of trend analysis, Sen Mann-Kendall model, the Extreme precipitation dataset (Preci_Data_QinHuai_China_1960-2013 for short) was developed. The dataset is consisted of three parts: First is the boundary of Qinling-Huaihe Region; Second is the data on extreme precipitation trends with 16 indicators in 135 meteorological stations; Third is the annual variation of anomaly precipitation characteristics in the 7 sub-regions. The 16 indicators include rain days, trace rain days, light rain days, moderate rain days, heavy rain days, 1-day maximum precipitation, 5-day maximum precipitation, annual precipitation intensity, no rain consecutive days, continuous rain days, precipitation in growing season, annual precipitation, abnormal rain days, extreme precipitation, abnormal precipitation, and extreme precipitation. The 7 sub-regions are lower reaches of the Yellow River sub-region, Huaihe Plain sub-region, Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River sub-region, Qinling_Bashan Mountains sub-region, Guanzhong Plain sub-region, Wushan Mountain sub-region, and Sichuan Basin sub-region. The analysis paper was published in the "Progress in Geography” Vol. 34, No.3, 2015. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xlsx format, 80KB.
