Abstract：

Hunan Province is one of the main rice crop areas of China, including both single rice and double rice. Based on MOD09A1, the dataset of single and double rice distribution and growing periods in Hunan Province of China in 2013 was developed. The dataset includes: (1) spatial data of single and double rice distribution in 500 meters resolution; (2) spatial data of double rice in planting date, heading date and harvesting date in 500 meters resolution; (3) Means and standard deviations of 8-days composite EVI data. For producing the dataset, time-series of NDVI, EVI, LSWI were produced and filtered by the Savitzky-Golay method first, then using CART method, the spatial data of single and double rice distribution in 500 meters resolution was developed. The double rice in planting date, heading date and harvesting date were extracted. The initial data validation was made. The data analysis paper was published at the Journal of Progress of Geography, No.10, Vol. 34, 2015. The data is archived in .tif and .xlsx format, the compressed data size is 1.55MB.
