Abstract:

By using Meiyu data in 1951-2014 determined by the latest national Meiyu monitoring criteria, quasi-periodic oscillations on multiple time scales and long term trend of Meiyu over the Yangtze River are acquired by ensemble empirical mode decomposition method. And the HadCRUT4 global surface temperature data developed by the Met Office Hadley Centre and the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia and two index of the Pacific decadal oscillation and the Atlantic multi-decadal oscillation from National Oceanic Administration of USA are further used to construct the dataset for inter-annual anomaly prediction model of Meiyu over the Yangtze River from the perspective of multi-time scale decomposition basing on statistical methods including mean generating function, multiple linear regression, etc.. Independent samples test of Meiyu anomalies in the latest 5 years exhibits an encouraging hindcast performance, which verifies the stability of predictability of inter-annual component of Meiyu anomaly and the superiority of Meiyu prediction model based on multiple time scale separation. The dataset includes the following: (1) Interannual anomaly of Meiyu over Yangtze River and its components with variability on 3-4 a,6-8 a,12-16 a,32 a,64 a time scale together with long-term trend; (2) SST anomaly over NINO3 region, west tropical Pacific and north Pacific in winter; (3) Decadal anomaly of SST over north Pacific in winter; (4) Pacific decadal oscillation during winter; (5) Atlantic multi-decadal oscillation during winter. The serial length of the above dataset is 64 a ranging from 1951 to 2014. Winter means December to February of next year. The dataset is archived in .xlsx, data format with data size of 18.0 KB. The paper based on the dataset is published at the Acta Meteorological Sinica, No.3, Vol.76, 2018.
