Abstract:

Based on the China statistics data in the provincial level from 1952 to 2010, the shift-share analysis is applied to decompose the changes in economic shares of Chinese provinces by using the sequential sample cluster analysis, the evolution of China's spatial economic pattern has been divided into eight periods (1952-1958, 1958-1960, 1960-1966, 1966-1980, 1980-1986, 1986-1992, 1992-2001, 2001-2010). The analysis dataset of economic shares changes of Chinese Provinces (1952-2010) is consisted of Table 1 Changes in economic shares of provinces in China in different phases; Table 2 Effects of primary, secondary, tertiary industries on changes in economic shares of provinces in China in different periods; Table 3 Industry mix, competitive and allocation effects of secondary industry for provinces of China in different periods; Table 4 Industry mix, competitive and allocation effects of tertiary industry for provinces of China in different periods. The dataset is archived in the .xlsx data format with the data size of 120 KB. The analysis paper was published in the Scientia Geographica Sinica, No. 1, Vo. 35, 2015.
