Abstract:

The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Week 2019 and Ministerial Summit was held during 2-9 November 2019 in Canberra, Australia. The GEO is consisted of 103 national members and 103 international organizations. Besides the discussions about science, technology, joint activities, GEO projects, the GEO culture is also emphasized. Since 1957, the Sputnik, the first artificial satellite, launched successfully, the satellite and earth observation stamps and philatelic culture started and developed. For remembering the 2019 GEO Week and Ministerial Summit, China GEO and the Digital Lin Chao Geomuseum jointly developed a scroll souvenirs based on the stamps collections which archived in the Lin Chao Geomuseum. The theme of the souvenirs is We Are One. 21 Stamps was selected among thousands stamps on earth observations. These stamps were issued by 21 nations or organizations, they were: Togolais, China, Turkey, Italy, Japan, Russia, Ajman, France, Kenya/Uganda/Tanganyika, USA, Indonesia, South Africa, Nicaragua, Cuba, Hatti, United Nations, Thailand and Rwanda. The collections is consisted of 34 images, including: (1) image of scroll souvenirs on We Are One; (2) images of 21 stamps archived in Lin Chao Geomuseum; (3) photos of the GEO philatelic culture communication in Canberra, Australia in November 2019 and in Beijing of China during the 110th Anniversary of Geographical Society of China and Professor LIN Chao. The images are archived in .jpg data format in 34 data files with the data size of 190 MB (Compressed to 189 MB in one data file).
