Abstract:

The Picea balfouriana tree rings from Baiyu County (99.81°E,31.15°N), Western Sichuan Plateau were collected in October 2017, and the standardized chronology was calculated after processing the tree ring width chronology with ARSTAN and COFFECHA programs. The authors reconstructed yearly summer (June-July) mean temperature back to 1383 for the region based on a significant positive correlation between the standard chronology and summer temperature. The dataset includes: (1) geo-location data of the sample site; (2) reconstruction data of yearly mean temperature in Western Sichuan Plateau from June to July over the period of 1383-2005; (3) the mean meteorological temperature data of Western Sichuan Plateau from June to July during 1962-2005; (4) some photos. The dataset is archived in .shp, .xlsx and .jpg data formats, and consists of 9 data files with data size of 2.10 MB (Compressed into one file with 1.97 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at International Journal of Climatology (2021).
