Abstract:
Taking Xiaoba village, Saping Town, Xiuwen County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province as the research area, we extracted the geographic information of the village, including homestead, cultivated land, road (inter Village Road, tractor road, ridge), based on the aerial images obtained by UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) in July 2017, and verified the interpretation results. Referring to the household survey data, we calculated the road network distance from the homestead to the cultivated land, and the road accessibility index of the farmland. Then, based on the method proposed by Simmons (1964), other indicators (the area index, the shape index of the farmland) were characterized. Finally, the sum of the indicators was taken as the farmland fragmentation index of the farm, and the farmland fragmentation measurement datasets in Xiaoba Village based on road network analysis was obtained. The dataset includes: (1) the geographical location data of the study area; (2) the road network data of the study area and its vicinity; (3) the fragmentation index and its sectional statistical data of farmers' cultivated land; (4) the accessibility index of farmers' roads, the area index and shape index of farmers' plots; (5) the contribution rate of each evaluation index to the fragmentation index of villages' cultivated land; (6) the data of farmland fragmentation index obtained based on different models. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xlsx format and consists of 16 data files with data size of 530 KB (compressed into one single data file with 334 KB). The research paper based on this dataset was published at Resource Science, Vol. 41, No. 4, 2019.
