Abstract:
The Baiyangdian Lake Basin refers to the catchment area of the Tang River, Juma River, Fu River and other water systems, which belong to the Haihe Basin. The western part of the Baiyangdian Lake Basin locates in the Taihang Mountains, the eastern part is in the North China Plain, and the piedmont plain slopes from the north, west, and south to the Baiyangdian Lake in the middle of the basin. The highest elevation of the basin is 2786 m high located in the Taihang Mountains; the lowest elevation is about 5 m located in the Baiyangdian depression. The geo-location of the basin is from 113°39′16″E to 116°13′51″E and from 38°9′50″N to 40°3′51″N. The total area of the Basin is 31,816.46 km², and the boundary is 1,008.88 km long. The Baiyangdian Lake Basin covers parts of Hebei Province, Shanxi Province, and Beijing metropolis, although most of the area is within the administrative divisions of Baoding City, Hebei Province. The data were extracted according to the watershed extraction algorithm based on the ASTER-DEM data and then obtained by visual matching and calibration with the google earth images. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 15 data files with data size of 1.17 MB (compressed to two data files with 490 KB).
