Abstract:
Nepal is located at the southern of the Himalayas, high in the north connecting with China and low in the south linking with India. The elevation cluster dataset of Nepal was developed based on ASTER GDEM V003. The elevation was divided into 19 categories with an elevation gradient change of 38.2 m/km. The result shows that the area with an elevation between 500 m and 6000 m accounts for 76.53% of the total area; the area with elevation below 500 m accounts for 22.56%; and above 6000 m accounts for 0.91%. The dataset is archived in .tif format, and consists of 6 data files with data size of 838 MB (Compressed to one file with 7.65 MB).
