Rice Distribution Dataset in Hunan Province (2012) was developed based on HJ-1 A/B images, using the integrating supervised, unsupervised classification methods, and the mixed pixel decomposition model. This dataset was validated using the identification results from the high spatial resolution remote sensing data (Rapid Eye) for early rice and the in situ data for middle and late rice, respectively. This dataset includes the early, middle and late rice distribution in Hunan province in 2012. It is archived in .tif data format with Universal Transverse Mercator projection and spatial resolution of 30 m. It consists of three data files with data size of 72 MB (compressed into one single file with 65.8 MB).The analysis paper based on this dataset was published in Journal of Applied Remote Sensing, Vol. 8, No.1, 2014.
