Abstract:
New Caledonia Island is located near the Tropic of Capricorn in the South Pacific Ocean. It is separated 1,289 km from the east of Australian mainland. It is one of the islands in the Melanesian Islands, and administratively belongs to the New Caledonia, an overseas territory of France in the Oceania. Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia, is located in the southeastern of the Island. The geo-location of New Caledonia Island is 20°4′32″S-22°23′44″S, 163°59′43″E-167°2′1″E. New Caledonia Island is in the northeast to southwest direction, with the length of 400 km and the width of 64 km. The total area of the Island is 16,363.84 km² and the coastline is 1,896.58 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 27 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp formats, with the data size of 6.04 MB (Compressed to 4.18 MB in three data files).
