Abstract:

It was the fast development and rapid expanding period of Shenzhen organization from 2000-2015. It was also a period of increasing shortage of urban land. Under the background of less and less flat land for the urban development, the slope land became the tight land for the Shenzhen urban development. The urban land collected by this dataset refers to the features that can be recognized by satellite images covered with artificial materials such as concrete, asphalt, bricks and tiles, such as roads, squares, houses, etc., excluding water bodies, vegetation, bare land, and beaches. The Five-year interval dataset on relationship between land slope and urban expanding in Shenzhen, China (2000-2015) was developed based on the SRTM3 v4.1, Landsat TM and OLI images in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. The dataset includes: (1) geo-location data of the study area; (2) integral slope data in grid of 30 m x 30 m (.tif); (3) the artificial surface data with 0 and 1 value in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015 (.tif,30 m x 30 m). (4) grid number of artificial surface in each gradient in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015 (.xlsx). (5) area proportion of artificial surface in the total in each gradient in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015 (.xlsx). The dataset is archived in .shp, .tif and .xlsx data formats, consisting of 33 data files with data size of 4.96 MB (Compressed to one single data file with data size of 4.00 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at the Journal of Natural Resources, Vol. 33, No. 12, 2018.
