Abstract：

The Kaafu Atoll, one of the administrative atolls of Maldives, is located from 3。48′37″N - 4。58′0″N, 73。21′4″E to 73。43′20″E in the Mideast of the Maldives. The Male city, the Capital of the Maldives is located in the North Male Atoll of the Kaafu Atoll. The neighbors of Kaafu Atoll are the Lhaviyani Atoll in north, the Vaavu Atoll in south and the Alifu Alifu Atoll in west. The Kaafu Atoll is consisted of four atolls, the North Male Atoll, the South Male Atoll, Gaafaru Atoll and Kaashidhoo Atoll. The Kaafu Atoll includes 163 islands, the major islands are: Oligandufinolhu, Mahaanaelhihuraa, Ehrruhhaa, Olhuveli, Bodufinolhu, Fihaalhohi, Lhosfushi, Guraidhoo, Rahnaalhi, Kandoomaafushi, Villingiliyau, Makunufushi, Hiyaadhoo, Maafushi, Boduhuraa, Dhigufinolhu, Gulheegaathuhuraa, Gulhi, Maniyalushi, Enhoodhoo, Bolifushi, Enboodhoofinolhu, Velassaru, Vaadhoo, Vilinjili, Male, Funadhoo, Thilafushi, Dhoonidhoo, Kuda wataru, Feydhoofinolhu, Hulhule, Kurumba, Aarah, Club Faru, Furannafushi, Kanduoihgiri, Kudabandos, Bodubandos, Baros, Lankanfinolhu, Lankanfushi, Ihuru, Vabbinfaru, Thulhagiri, Himmafushi, Thanburudhoo, Girifushi, Vabboahuraa, Kanuharaa, Kudahuraa, Huraa, Kanifinolhu, Lhohifushi, Gasfinolhu, Nakachchaafushi, Thulusdhoo, Viligilimathidhahuraa, Boduhithi, Dhiffushi, Meeru, Asdu, Henbadhoo, Medhufinolhu, Summer, Makunudhoo, Eriyadu, Helengeli, Akirifushi, Kagi, Olhahali, Hulhumale, Gaafaru and the Kaashidhoo Islands. The biggest island in the Kaafu Atoll is the Kaashidhoo Island with the area of 2.78km2. The total area of the islands in the Kaafu Atoll is 18.95km2 and the total coastline is 225.10km long. The dataset was developed based on integration of the Google Earth images, maps and other records. The data is archived in .kmz and .shp format with the compressed size of 594KB.
