Abstract:
Plant autumn phenology is affected by many environmental factors, such as temperature, water and daylight. The occurrence and change of autumn phenology has great uncertainty. The leaf coloring date (LCD) in 1963-2015 of five woody plants from Chinese Phenological Observation Network (CPON), as Fraxinus chinensis, Salix babylonica, Robinia pseudoacacia, Ulmus pumila, Armeniaca vulgaris, were used to establish three LCD models (multiple regression (MA), temperature-photoperiod (DM), spring-influenced autumn (SIA)). The 0.5°x 0.5° LCD grid data of five species were developed from 1963 to 2015 by simulation and scale expansion. Cross-validation results show that the average simulation error of LCD is about 10-18 days. Autumn phenological grid dataset is the basic data representing the spatial-temporal pattern and change characteristics of autumn phenology in China over the last 50 years. The dataset includes header file, phenophase and spatial distribution data in .tif and .txt formats, which consists of 3 data folders and 541 data files with data size of 26.8 MB (Compressed to one single data file with 4.86 MB).
