Abstract:
Spatial Dataset of the Islands and Reefs Occupied by Vietnam in the South China Sea lists the geo-location and information about the 29 islands and reefs (sandbank and shoal are also included)in Chinese Nansha Islands which were invaded and occupied by Vietnam from 1973-1998. In which, there are 4 islands, 15 reefs, 3 sandbanks and 7 shoals. 7 islands and reefs were invaded by Vietnam in 1970s, and 13 in 1980s, 7 in 1990s. The dataset is archived in .shp format with the data size of 3KB. The research paper on the dataset was published at the Journal of Tropical Geography, No. 5, Vol. 35, 2015. ( Note. .shp format data is correspond to the data in the related paper. Meanwhile, .kmz format data is matched to the remote sensing images in Google Earth. )
