Abstract:
The South Nicobar group is in the southernmost of the Nicobar Islands located in Bay of Bengal, Indian. It belongs to the Nicobar district of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Its geo-location is 6°45′22″N-7°31′30″N, 93°32′26″E-93°56′48″E. The South Nicobar group is consisted of the Great Nicobar Island, Little Nicobar Island, Kondul Island, Pulo Milo Island, and Meroe Island. Among them, the Great Nicobar Island is the biggest one, with the area of 899.68 km². The total area of the Islands is 1042.59 km², and the coastline is 406.18 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 1.52 MB (Compressed to 618 KB in two files).
