Abstract:
The East Baratang Group is located in mid-east of the Andaman Islands, the Bay of Bengal. It is separated from the Middle Andaman Island at the northwest, from the Baratang Island at its southwest, from Ritchie’s Archipelago at its southeast. It belongs to the North and Middle Andaman administrative district, part of the Indian Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Its geo-location is 12°11′45″N-12°26′7″N, 92°49′45″E-92°57′37″E. The main islands in East Baratang Group are Long Island, Strait Island, North Passage Island, Colebrooke Island, and Porlob Island. Among them, the biggest one is the Long Island, with the area of 14.06 km². The total area of the Islands is 55.82 km², the coastline is 136.33 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 409 KB (Compressed to 170 KB in two files).
