Abstract:

The Moscos Islands is an island chain in the Andaman Sea, 75 km long from north to south. It belongs to the Dawei District of the Tanintharyi Region of Myanmar. Its geo-location is 13°46′24″N-14°27′39″N, 97°45′47″E-97°55′52″E. There is only 16-20 km wide between the Island and the Tanintharyi Coast at its east. It is consisted of North Moscos Islands, Middle Moscos Islands (Maungmagan Islands) and South Moscos Islands (Launglon Bok Islands). The North Moscos Islands is consisted of Heinze Islands and Bok Ye-gan Group. The total area of the Islands is 46.54 km², and the coastline is 137.01 km. All islands are governed by the Burma Forest Department as the Moscos Islands Wildlife Sanctuary. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 717 KB (Compressed to 291 KB in two files).
